Role Summary: IT Security Specialist
This role is responsible for managing and enhancing our client's IT security infrastructure. Core responsibilities include overseeing anti-virus/anti-malware systems, privileged access management, and single sign-on technologies to strengthen the organisation's cybersecurity defenses. The individual will assess and address evolving cyber threats, applying security knowledge to develop and improve protective measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply operational procedures effectively and ensure documentation is accessible.
- Identify and resolve operational issues based on standard procedures.
- Prepare reports and suggest improvements for IT processes.
- Contribute to internal and external audits and ensure compliance with frameworks like ISO27001.
- Implement best-practice server hardening and security updates.
- Manage the installation, maintenance, and operation of key security systems, including MS Defender, Intune, Azure AD, PKI, and related infrastructure.
- Regularly review infrastructure for compliance and escalate issues as needed.
Key Requirements
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS networking.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Azure AD, Intune, Entra ID.
- Familiarity with single sign-on (SAML 2.0), PKI, and network security.
Desirable Skills
- SIEM knowledge, Google Cloud familiarity, patch management.
- Scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and experience with penetration testing.
- ITIL, MCSA, MCSE, CEH certifications.
